Next Saturday we are PhotoHunting 'Mellow'

~ Creativity ~

The PhotoHunt for this week is 'Creativity'
I thought of the perfect example of creativity in this photo at the Duomo in Lucca . . .

In the 14th century, when they were building the Duomo, the townspeople of Lucca had a contest for the most creative column. All of the artists created their own unique design out of colored marble, with the hopes of winning the honor of decorating the facade.
Instead . . . the townsfolks took all of the entries and used them on the Cathedral.
The creative artists felt cheated by the change in plans . . .
and the creative townspeople got an assortment of columns for free.

That is 'Creativity' ~

The PhotoHunt for this week is 'Game' This weekend is the BIG Game ~ Auburn and Alabama will be fighting it out on the plains.
There is nothing like the insanity of  SEC saturday in the south.

Notice in this photo that not only is everything in Crimson and houndstooth . . . there is a bit of a picnic with the big screen and satellite set up to catch the pre-game.

The Day was OVER, we were exhausted from walking all OVER the Amalfi Coast, we enjoyed a dinner of pasta with sauce OVER it and a bottle of Italian wine, on our terrace OVERlooking the beautiful village of Positano, the clouds were hanging OVER the coastline. . . A memory that is OVERtheTop.

Of course, I go back to Italy. . . where the music of the church bells, the language and the laughter of the Italian people is magical.

I knew the photo I wanted to use . . .

But, This is a lesson in photocropping ~
This was a photo from the Charlotte Airport . . . in my mind's eye I remember people of all cultures milling around the money exchange booth.
In my (ever - lacking) wisdom, I cropped out all the people and just kept this sign. Now I wish I had the original.
Oh well . . . I will be going through Charlotte's Airport in a couple of weeks ~ I'll be sure to have my camera handy.

I found this photo of the statue that stands at the boat dock in Positano.

Of all the beautiful people and famous visitors on the shores of the Amalfi Coast . . .
This is a monument to the 'humble' fish wife.

I asked mi amici at Positano Daily Photo what her story is . . . Nicki says 'La Pescatrice' (the fisherwoman) made by Amerigo Tot in 1956 and donated to the town of Positano by Tobia Salino 
 . . . I'm thinking this Italian woman must be a fabulous cook!

There are so many choices for blue ~

I remembered the beautiful blues in Malta . . . the boats, the water, the sky.
Mostly the beautiful blue eyes of the Maltese people. ( I don't have any good photos of that! ) These warm and friendly people all have icy blue eyes with their dark skin and dark hair.
