The PhotoHunt theme for the week is 'Surprise'. Boy . . . were we surprised! We were sitting in traffic ~ and who should appear?I believe this was Santa . . . Baby Surprise me with your comments ! Happy Hunting y'all~ Sandi
What a fun shot. I'm not doing photohunters this week because I was too rushed to get a post together and won't have time to visit Saturday but wanted to wish you and the photohunters a Happy Christmas/Holiday.
Surprise, there's now just one Surprise-themed post rather than the two I saw earlier on this blog! :O
Since my comment was on the deleted post, here's repeating again that my take on this week's theme is here:- http://webs-of-significance.blogspot.com/2011/12/surprise-and-lights-this-weeks-photo.html
And is Santa headed to the pool, or the spa? Great photo. Our surprise, reflected in a child's eyes (1978) is now posted on Zoolatry. Happy Christmas to one and all. http://zoolatry.blogspot.com

Thanks for playing y'all ... that was snapped with a cell phone! Here's my other surprise ~ http://whistlestopcooking.blogspot.com/2011/12/photohunt-surprise.html
In my neighborhood, there used to be a guy who dressed up as Santa and rode a motorcycle up and down Mt. Vernon Avenue during December - with a full-size, decorated Christmas tree strapped behind him. I haven't seen him in a few years. I miss him.
In a Louisiana swamp, a family of raccoons was foraging around, watching our boat from the shore. Suddenly, an alligator popped up out of the water and headed straight for the raccoons, with another alligator right behind. We feared we would witness a slaughter. But the alligators stopped. After their initial surprise, the raccoons remained calm and kept a watchful eye on the gators, maintaining a cushion of space between themselves and their predators at all times. They remained on alert and eventually left the alligators behind to continue following us along the shore, climbing trees when necessary to stay out of reach.
The photo, which I call "Confrontation," is on my blog:

ReplyDeleteOur New Zealand Santa surprised us in a quad bike and a singlet.
Santa arrives in all kinds of ways. The motorcycle is probably a lot more fun than going down the chimney and landing with a bound!
